Also on the market, which is open every day, you can find all the diverse souvenirs. On the road to Ubud you drive along Taman Ubud Bali (Bali Bird Park), a very nice and well cared Bird Park. Further, you reach the road to Ubud by various craft villages (silver, ceramics, wood / stone-carving, etc.). In Ubud there are many nice restaurants such as Lotus Caf, Murni's Warung and Sawa's. It's nice to take a walk in the Monkey Forest. Neka Museum (history of Balinese art) is a must for lovers. The area offers beautiful walks through the sawas.

Temples (Pura)

Tanah Lot is a famous temple. It is a temple on a huge rock near the coast. This is a wonderful place to sun set, but it's quite touristy and often busy. Approximately 20 minutes by car from our site. There are many souvenir shops.

Luhur Pura Uluwatu. This temple is beautifully located on the Bukit Badung peninsula in Southern Bali. On the tops of the cliffs, 100 meters high, you have a wonderful view on the temple and the Indian Ocean. Here, the Kecak dance will be performed in every day's evening. On the return trip it's advisable to visit the fish restaurants on Jimbaran beach! From 5 o'clock delicious (red) snapper and shrimp are served! The sunset is beautiful.

Pura Ulun Danu (Bedugul) is on a small peninsula in Lake Bratan. North of Bedugul there is a botanical garden (320 hectares), with 650 different trees and 400 different orchids. Especially for those who keep orchids it's worth a visit.

Gunung Agung, 3142 meters: beautiful volcano! On the slopes of Gunung Agung, the Besakih Temple.

Gunung Batur, 1717 meters: return to the crater. With a guide, it's about 3 hours on foot. Remember to get up early. The crater has a diameter of 11 kilometers and is 180 m deep. In Penelokan, on the edge of the crater, the trip may be interrupted to look at the beautiful views of the environment and more to enjoy.

Gunung Kawi and Tirta Empul

Gunung Kawi: the complex is situated in a valley. The rock-cut candi (shrines) date from the 11th century and it's monuments honor the royal family of that time. It is a nice location. The holy source Tirta Empul is not far away and can be included in the same trip.
